1 - Choose the
IFO file
First, you must choose from the original DVD, the IFO file that belongs to the
main movie. DVDREasy will examine the file and let you choose up to 2
Audio tracks and 2 Subtitles (or ---No Subtitles---).
2 - Rip the
VOBs files
DVD DECRYPTER will be launched to rip the corresponding VOB files to your hard disk.
DVD DECRYPTER will also create chapter information files (for CCE and
MUXMAN). The new VOB files
will only have the video, the audio and
subtitles streams you chose.
3 - Size of the
new VOBs
If the the size of the ripped vob files fits on a DVD±R,
then no video encoding is necessary. So, DVDREasy will just
Re-Author.
Otherwise, DVDREasy will Re-Encode
the Video and Author.
Re-Authoring Mode
4a - Extract
Subtitles
VOBSUB and SUBTOSUP will be launched to extract the subtitles.
4b - Demuxing
BBDMUX will be launched to demux Video and
Audio.
4c - DVD
Authoring
MUXMAN will be launched
to author a new DVD using the demuxed video file, demuxed audio file and the
extracted subtitles file.(*)
Re-Encoding Mode
5a - Create
DGINDEX project
DGINDEX will be launched to create a project and demux the audio.
5b - Calculate
Bitrate
Using the size of the audio track and its bitrate, DVDREasy will calculate the
new bitrate for video encoding.
5c - Extract
Subtitles
VOBSUB and SUBTOSUP will be launched to extract the subtitles.
5d - Geting
MPEG2 information
MPEGinfo will be launched to get MPEG2 information (picture structure, DCT
type,...)
5e - Video
Encoding
Cinema Craft
Encoder (the best commercial video encoder available) will be launched
to encode the video.
or
HC Encoder (the best
free video encoders available) will be launched to encode the video.
5f - Only for
NTSC
If the video source is NTSC then PULLDOWN will be executed.
5g - Putting it
all together
MUXMAN will be launched to author a new DVD using the encoded video file, demuxed
audio file and the extracted subtitles file.

6 - DVD ISO Image
MKISOFS will be launched to create a DVD ISO IMAGE.
7 - BURN of ISO Image
DVD DECRYPTER will be launched to burn the ISO IMAGE created in step 6

Corrections
After step 4c or step 5g DVDREasy will
performe the following corrections:
in VIDEO_TS.IFO :
- VMG sectors
in VTS_01_1.IFO :
- Language name of the audio stream
- Language name of the subtitles stream (if available)
- PGC Color of the subtitles stream (if available)
- VTS sectors
