Guide

Running DVDREasy for the first time

When you run DVDREasy for the first time you will see a warning message saying that  the dvdreasy.ini is missing. This is perfectly normal. Press "OK" button to continue.
A dvdreasy.ini will be created.

Folders and Paths

Next, you must tell DVDREasy where you want the Working Folder (must have ~15 GB free space).
Based on that, DVDREasy will automaticly assign an Output Folder called "VIDEO_TS" (that will contain the new processed files ready for burning) and a ISO Image Folder called "ISO" for storing the ISO image (optional). If you intent to use Cinema Craft Encoder you must inform the locations of CCE SP.

Inform the location of CCE executable
and DVDREasy will automaticly find the
CCE version.

If you dont have CCE, just leave the
path for Cinema Craft Encoder empty

If you want to burn ISO image after the
conversion process, please inform your
DVD-RW drive

You can always change these settings by choosing "Folders and Path" from the toolbar

A message box will apear if you don´t have AviSynth 2.5 Installed.
In that case just answer "yes" and AviSynth will be installed.

Encoder Settings

Here you choose what encoder to use (CCE or HC) and their respective settings.
For an explanation of CCE settings, please visit the Cinema Craft web site and the CCE forum at Doom9.org

Here you can specify the encoding mode:

In Onepass VBR, dvdreasy finds the best Q value for the conversion process. This mode is significantly faster than Multipass mode but less accurate in filling all the 4,7GB of a DVD-R.

The Multipass mode is slower than OPV but the 4,7GB of DVD-R are filled to the edge. The conversion time depends on the nº of passes that you specify. You will not gain noticeable quality with values greater than 5

If you know how, you can define your own AVISYNTH script for using with CCE.

You can always change these settings by choosing "Enc. Settings" from the toolbar and return to default values by pressing "Defaults" button

For an explanation of HC settings :
    - read the PDF document in HCenc directory (ex c:\program files\dvdreasy\hcenc)
    - visit this thread at Doom9.org

Here you can specify the encoding mode :

In Onepass VBR, dvdreasy finds the best Q value for the conversion process. This mode is significantly faster than Multipass mode but less accurate in filling all the 4,7GB of a DVD-R.

The 2 pass mode is slower than 1 Pass but the 4,7GB of DVD-R are filled to the edge.

For both modes, the conversion time
depends on the Profile setting. As usual, thes best encoding will take more time

If you know how, you can define your own AVISYNTH script for using with HC

You can always change these settings by choosing "Enc. Settings" from the toolbar and return to default values by pressing "Defaults" button

Backup a DVD to a DVD±R

This is as easy as walking in the park . . .

1 Choose the IFO file that belongs to the main movie.

2 If you want to shutdown your PC after the convertion process is finished just make sure you check this.

3 Here you can see the Video information that belongs to the IFO file you have chosen in 1. No action to perform here.

4 Choose the audio track that you want to keep.

5 Choose the Subtitles that you want to keep, if any (you can always select ---No Subtitles---)

Press the "Convert" button and after a few hours you will have in the Output Folder all the necessary files to burn the new DVD.

Note
: everytime you press the "Convert" button the contents of the Output Folder (working_folder\VIDEO_TS) will be erased.
